Dual-leg Shock Absorbing Lanyards

When you need to move from one anchor point to another – you are going to want a dual-leg shock absorbing lanyard. A lanyard with two legs allows the user to hop from one anchor point to another without ever having to disconnect – this is called 100% tie-off.

Double-leg lanyards not only make working at height safer – it improves productivity and morale. By maintaining a 100% tie-off there is never a chance of free fall, users can work with confidence while moving from one position to another.

On top of allowing fluid workflow and maintaining 100% tie-off – dual leg shock absorbing lanyards are equipped with a non-metal energy absorber which limit falling forces to safe levels in the event of a fall.

Imagine a worker installing decking on a new steel building. The worker is tied-off at foot level, but as she moves out and away from the anchor – the worker is exposed to a potential fall over the ledge or a “leading edge”.

What is a sharp-edge?

A sharp edge is an edge that is thin enough to cut through web lanyards and lifelines – the smaller the edge radius, the sharper the edge.

Sharp edges are found in many leading-edge applications where the edge is capable of damaging the lanyard on contact – for example typical I-beams have a edge radii ranging from .005″ to 0.32″.
