In order for SafetyRail 2000 to meet OSHA compliance...

for fall protection, you must use outriggers (returns/ counter weights). Whether the Danger Side Run is 5' or 1000' in length, you must have these in place at the beginning and at the end of the run. Outriggers are standard rail kits that are connected at approximately 90 degrees to the Danger Side Run of each end rail section.

The LP Outrigger is used to continue a run of SafetyRail 2000 when ducting or conduit does not allow for a rail section to be used. The outrigger is placed under the object to continue the run, thus eliminating the needed outriggers when discontinuing the run. It also can be used as an outrigger when there is not enough available space for a standard rail outrigger. We do not recommend using the LP Outrigger as a standard outrigger. It creates a trip hazard and should only be used when all other options are exhausted.
